Photo Camp 2017 – Rock Springs Run Reserve

Let’s get together for fun and learning, again!

Tampa Bay Camera Club is hosting its second annual Photo Camp event. This will be a fun mix of photography, education, and camping. Since our first Photo Camp proved to be very popular we have reserved a house and surrounding grounds in Rock Springs Run Reserve on the Wekiva River that will accommodate more photo-campers and provide more photo and educational opportunities.

When: Friday, April 28th thru Sunday, April 30th 2017

Where: Rock Springs Run Reserve, Sanford Hammock House

Sunday:
Break camp and go home

The cost will be $40 per participant. This will offset the cost to rent the house and food provided by the club. This is less than you would pay for two nights of camping, alone,  in any state park.

What to bring:
Cameras, lenses, tripods, laptops, etc. WiFi may be available but is not guaranteed.
Horses (optional) There are stalls available if you want to bring horses to ride or for a photo shoot.
Proper clothing and footwear. We will be walking around in forest and swamp environments.
Insect repellent. There will be mosquitoes and ticks. Remember DEET is bad for camera gear! Picaridin is effective and safe for camera equipment. Oil of lemon and eucalyptus is a natural repellent as is citronella. Permethrin is effective when applied to clothing and other fabrics but is ineffective on skin.
Snacks and drinks, lunch items and potluck dinner items to share if you wish to stay overnight. TBCC will provide light snacks and drinks for lunch as well as some assorted food for the potluck campfire dinner.
Overnight camping gear if you wish to stay. TBCC will put up some extra tents and hammocks but since there will be no guarantee of the number of available tent/hammock spaces you are welcome to bring your own. There is lots of space on the grounds of the house to put up tents as well as nearby trees where hammocks can be placed.
Horses (optional) There are stalls available if you want to bring horses to ride or for a photo shoot. Let us know in advance if you plan to bring horses so that we may hold the appropriate number of stalls for you.
Any unused horse stalls may also be used as a weather-safe place to set up camping gear – first come first serve. In-house sleeping accommodations have been reserved by the Board of Directors.

Participation is contingent upon a waiver of liability. Follow this link to pay to reserve your spot and download a copy of the waiver to sign and bring to the event:
