A big thank you to Mike Moats for taking the time to judge the entries and to make some minor suggestions and changes to a few of the entries to illustrate what he thought would have been made them stronger images. Also, thank you to Mike for giving us the lifetime membership to his Macro Photo Club to give as a prize. Please take a look at Mike’s website and I encourage you to join his club and attend his educational offerings.

Infrared Photography by Tony Sweet – Technical Night in June

To continue our learning and sharing during these difficult times, I am very happy to announce that we have booked Tony Sweet to give his talk on Infrared Photography at our June 22, 2020 Technical Night via Zoom.

Tony’s Bio:

Coming from an artistic background as a professional jazz artist and professional close up magician (sleight of hand artist), Tony has always sought creative, deeply personal endeavors.

The transition from jazz artist to nature photographer was a seamless transition as both require an improvisational nature and an ability to adapt too quickly changing conditions.

Tony was named as a Nikon Legend Behind the Lens and has been published worldwide for over 35 years. He has authored 8 books, contributing to many others, co-produced an educational DVD series, and teaches and lectures throughout the US, Canada, Iceland, and Cuba.

Tony is co-owner, along with Susan Milestone, of their Visual Artistry Workshops Series and Creativity Seminars. Tony and Susan have also launched an online educational series, beginning with ProCritiques and One on One private sessions.

Examples of Tony’s infrared work:

I took my very first online photography classes from Tony back around 2005! My first workshop was also with him and Susan in the mountains of Tennessee. He was teaching color nature photography but showed us some of his amazing infrared images! I was hooked and vowed to get a converted camera as soon as I could…. I know you will want to try this different and interesting way of seeing the world, after hearing Tony speak and seeing more of his images!

Please join us at our Zoom meeting on June 22, 2020, and learn from this internationally known photographer.

Jim will send the Zoom invitation out and post it on the website just prior to this meeting.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at the meeting.

Stay well!
