Competition night is Friday, January 21st. As always the meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 pm. Remember if you have images to submit you must be there by 6:30 to complete the submission process in advance of the meeting.
Also note on your calendar that the Saturday video series will take place this month on the 15th at 10:00 am. The presentation will be on Richard Koci Hernandez, Multimedia Journalist.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events!

The other day we visited on the phone. I am also a member of the Crosstown Camera Club in Edina, MN. Usually about 30 members attend a monthly meeting. As an informational tool for you here is a brief explanation of their competition process. Their competition is similar to TBCC however with some differences. Submissions are one week prior to each meeting. During the week, a judge (various experienced photographers) then reviews entries and assigns points. At the meeting they announce points and critique each entry. It takes about an hour. They do not differentiate from amateur and professional. There is a Topic each month. Alternating months require either digital images or prints. You may want to review their competition rules on their website. http://www.crosstowncameraclub.com . As they only have one meeting a month the second hour of the meeting is usually a speaker showing their portfolio or or leading a learning session.
