A reminder to all that there will be no Saturday video series this month. The video series will resume in March on the 2nd Saturday as usual.

The scoresheet with the 2012 competition standings is available for viewing now with the January scores. Remember you must have your dues paid to enter. The new scoresheet does reflect your dues status. If you wish to bring your dues to the upcoming meeting please print out this form and bring it with you.

Our next meeting on February 17th is competition night. The assigned category is “Food”. FYI: drinks count as food.

If you want to learn about or become more proficient with layers and masking then remember that Robert and Jim will be leading an SDL workshop on the subject on February 25th at tRG studio. Details can be found on the SDL website.

Saturday video series and other info

Happy New Year to everyone! Here is a rundown of some of what’s happening in our club right now:

Please join us on Saturday morning at 10:00 am for the next video presentation. This time the topic will be intimate landscape photography with photographer Bill Fortney.

The assigned category for the January photo competition is Travel. Remember the cutoff time for entries on the meeting night is 6:45 pm and that you must have your dues paid to be eligible. If you wish to pay your dues at the meeting please fill out this form and bring it with you. Your current ranking, based on the final scores from 2011, can be viewed on the new score sheet.

The next SDL workshop that Robert and Jim are doing will be at tRG studio on Saturday the 21st. The topic is food photography. If you are interested please go to the SDL website to find out more information and register.

P.S. Thanks to everyone for making the holiday party a success. The food and the company were terrific. Here are a few snapshots from the event:

Also please note that you are not eligible to submit any images, either assigned or general, unless your annual dues have been paid. If you have not yet paid for 2012 please use this form and bring your payment to the January meeting.

Holiday Party – Annual Dues

It’s almost time for the annual party! Remember to check out what is being brought by others here and then sign up here to let everyone know what food or drinks you are bringing to the party. Don’t forget to bring a print to hang! We will be announcing the 2011 competition winners and awarding prizes.

Remember that if you pay your annual dues prior to 01/01/2012 you receive a discount. Please print out and fill in this dues receipt and turn it in with your payment.

Annual TBCC Holiday Party!

The votes have been tallied and the date has been set for Thursday night, December 15th, 7:00 pm at tRG Studio. Please bring a guest and a pot luck item for the party. We will also be having a photo print pinup as well so bring an unframed print to hang and you will have an opportunity during the evening to tell us the story behind the picture. We will also announce the annual competition winners in the A and AA categories and award prize money. We are looking forward to a fun evening for all!

Please check this list to see what anyone else has already decided to bring so that we can avoid duplications. Some duplications of drink items are fine, we will need plenty. Current pot-luck list:

SDL Photography Workshops

Robert and I are working together teaching a monthly series of intensive, day-long photography workshops covering varying subjects at tRg studios. The next workshop which takes place on Oct 8th covers off-camera flash and will be much more than a basic primer. It will a day of in-depth teaching and hands-on training with 2 instructors. Bring your own gear and if you don’t have any yet we will provide some for you to learn with. Workshop size is limited 15 attendees to ensure that everyone receives individual attention. The workshop fee is $39 for the day. You can get more information and reserve a spot at SDL Photography Workshops
